Navodaya Institution was established focusing exclusively on the children of Chepang Indigenous Community of Nepal which is categorised as ‘the most marginalized’, (next category being ‘in the verge of extinction’) by the Government’s indigenous authority, on the basis of a set of socio-economic indicators. Their vulnerable nature and their lack of opportunity for education and development, owing to the remoteness of their settlements, have motivated Nepal Little Flower Society to establish this institution for them with a Secondary School and a hostel. The school arranges also skill development trainings and promotion of Chepang culture. It was established in the year 2005, and the CST Fathers of the Little Flower Province are engaged in the activities of the institution. All the facilities of school and hostel are given free of cost to the children, as their families cannot afford to pay any fees, with the generous support of good people and organizations. For the year 2019 (BS 2076) 45 students are selected for admission, and the total number of students in the school and hostel will be 262.
